Companions / CNAS / HHA / PCA

Companions/CNAS/PCA/HHA provides temporary, permanent, part time and full time services to people who need help with the activities of daily living. This includes people recovering from surgery, those with a chronic condition and/or the elderly or infirm, a Nanny 4 Granny can live in or live out and is qualified to provide the appropriate level of non-medical care. Some, but not all companions, are CNAs.


Providing Companionship

  • Daily, friendly conversation and emotional support
  • Helping client keep in contact with friends and family
  • Accompanying client to medical appointments, recreational outings and/or social events

Daily Assistance

  • Helping maintain an independent lifestyle
  • Organization of household
  • Assisting with grooming and bathing as needed
  • Planning and preparation of healthy meals
  • Assisting with mobility as required
  • Reminders to take medication
  • Organizing and reading mail
  • Assisting with correspondence and making phone calls
  • Light housekeeping
  • Assisting with petcare
  • Monitoring household supplies, repairs and maintenance
  • Communication with other caregivers as needed

Running Errands

  • Grocery shopping
  • Personal shopping
  • Picking up prescriptions



Compensation for a Caregiver is usually based on two factors: the amount of experience the candidate brings to the position and the duties included in the Caregiver job description.

Companions/CNAs earn $18 to $25 per hour.
Some families choose to provide benefits to full time Caregivers, which may include:
– Paid sick days – Paid vacation – Paid holidays -and/or Medical insurance
